I would be careful making rose hip oil in this way. The hairs on the seeds inside rose hips are used to make “itching powder.” (Isn’t nature wonderful? Itching powder and skin healing oil in the same seed pod!)
I would filter this infusion with a fine cloth.

What she made is not an essential oil. Essential oils are made typically made by distillation (usually steam). What she made is an infused oil, basically.

Good news guys and girls! A month ago it was really cold (-5C) and I got a fever and went outside, when I came back my skin looked like paper and there were these horrible wrinkles on the corner of my eyes. They were not very deep, they were there. So I bought rose hip oil, put this think like 4 times a day. And guess what? After a month, they’re gone!! This is true, I don’t work for a rose hip oil maker!

@MsRizalie: If you need to remove scar tissue there are some suppliments that will work. The thing with rose oil (when made right) is that it has a high frequency which helps in healing.

Hi, nice, informative and easy to follow video. However, as a home practitioner I would use almond or grape seed carrier oil , instead of cheaper cooking-oil. It will be less processed and is not much more expensive than cooking oils. I wanted to ask if you strain the oil befor usage? As I know from home made rosehip tea that the very thin hair can irritate the skinn badly. Thanks again for your great post.

I heard about using alcohol to make essential oils. Is that not the right way.

Excellent video for a home preparation. It’s an alternative to current extraction processes.

and what about the itchy pips inside? They are covered in teeny weeny hairs that can iritate… Can the lady who made this answer that? This is not a proper rosehip oil, just an infusion.

What else can you use. Can you use perfume?

  17. systemtim says:

how long do you leave it to ‘soak’. Rose hips are hard enought to extract juice from after boiling and then crushing/pressing. It must take years for the oil to be come totally infused, surely?
